Abstract
The 2014 Costeja court case in Spain made worldwide headlines when Google was forced to delete search engine results revealing information about a Spanish citizen's repossessed home. Mario Costeja González's complaint argued that Google’s search results infringed his privacy rights because the proceedings concerning him had been fully resolved for a number of years and hence any reference to these was "entirely irrelevant." This report examines the right to privacy and is divided into two parts.
